Fabulous property with spacious rooms. Rooftop pool area was great for a swim and a lie out in the sun. Central location, 10/15 min walk to the main centre with all the restaurants.

Very good breakfast selection with slight changes every day. A nice rooftop terrace with a pool, hot tub, and a little self-service bar. The rooms were very spacious, offering AC, light-blocking curtains, and a small kitchen.

We had such a lovely stay at Terrace Mar. The location is excellent – just a short walk to the promenade, shops, and great restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was bright, clean, and spacious with a comfortable bed, a well-equipped kitchenette, and even a balcony. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi were the highlight – peaceful and beautifully maintained, with sun loungers and even an honesty bar for little treats. It was a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring Madeira. You can see that the hotel is being looked after and maintained as it is not a new one, but what truly gives it added value are the amazing staff – their kindness, professionalism and genuine warmth make all the difference. Would definitely recommend Terrace Mar if you want good value, comfort, and warm hospitality.

Terrace Mar is a fantastic hotel. The location is fantastic with various restaurants around and easy transport into Funchal centre. The two single room had a fridge, stovetop and utensils. The staff were extremely helpful and the hot tub was great. The views from the rooftop pool/hot tub are breathtaking and there are three levels of loungers. There are also open terrace areas with tables and chairs for hanging out. The breakfast was good with various meats, eggs, breads and fruit.

We really enjoyed our stay here , nice modern decor, large spacious apartment with good aircon system, everything you need to a self catering stay , new towels and bedding each day , welcome drink and some extra goodies in our room on arrival and relaxed quiet atmosphere around the hotel pool and jacuzzi area , we often had the pool to ourself which was nice , also had a nice but small honestly bar, great idea for enjoying a rooftop beer. We stayed over new year and the prices were very reasonable, perfect location for us , near lido area however only 15-20 min walk into town , half an hour walk to old town, many nice restaurants and bars in the area , sports bar on the corner . We visit Madeira every year and we will definitely return to this hotel .

Very spacious apartment with a fully equipped kitchenette. All amenities, such as a hair dryer, were provided as described. Balcony available. Great variety of breakfast options (eggs, meat products, fruits (some local), vegetables, dairy, bread, sweets, cereals, etc.). Heated swimming pool, which we didn't have time to use :). Courteous and helpful hotel staff. Big plus for the free parking (there's a catch worth knowing about - the size of the underground parking, but others mention this so I won't elaborate), which can be reserved.

The hotel is in a great location — it’s easy to reach the city center, promenade, and other key spots. There are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby. The staff is absolutely amazing: very friendly and always happy to help. The rooms are spacious and spotless. It was also great to have a small kitchen, fully equipped with everything you might need. We didn’t cook, but it was very convenient for storing and washing fruits and snacks. Overall, I can honestly recommend this hotel — it offers great quality at a surprisingly low price.

Love the rooftop swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi with an honesty bar! Great view from up there. Room cleaning every day is perfect! Lots of (paid) parking around the hotel. Great location close to restaurants and shops. Friendly staff. Huge room with balcony and kitchenette.

In general, the hotel is clean, cosy and fully equipped. As for the accommodation, we stayed in an apartment with a separate bedroom, kitchenette, two balconies and a huge bathroom. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the stove and refrigerator worked perfectly. The room had air-conditioning, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has a simple pool on the terrace, an amazing view and a self-service bar. It also has a sauna and a jacuzzi. The hotel also has a reading room with a few shelves full of books, TV and board games. The staff was really nice and always available to help. The hotel is decorated with vivid colours and taste. Around the hotel, you can find all kinds of restaurants and small markets. Only 30 min walking distance from the centre of Funchal.
